Award-winning Singer/PBS & CBS-TV host, "Vocal genius" - the NY SUN, vocalist of both classical and popular music, Sing and entertain in 9 languages, most well-known for Italian classic and popular music - from Opera to Broadway to Standards to Pop classics. My specialty is interacting with the audience as a great communicator/entertainer. That quality is why I was hired as a host on PBS-TV and CBS-TV.. PBS-TV host for "Andrea Bocelli - Live from Central Park, "Il Volo Takes Flight" and several other specials. Recently filmed CBS-TV promo spot with Kevin James and 2 episodes TRU-TV's "Billy on the Street". "Voice of Domino's Pizza" on National Radio commercial; voice of "Nonna" on Lidia Bastianich's animated PBS-TV Christmas Special; CBS-TV NY interviewed/singing/co-hosting with Chef Tony Tantillo. Reviewed by leading media such as: The New York Times -"The best work came from Cristina Fontanelli"; America Oggi - "La Diva della Canzone"; Forbes Magazine - "Cristina Fontanelli at Feinstein's at the Regency is like seeing a cross between Maria Callas and Ethel Merman - she has no equal." I have sung as soloist with major orchestras such as the Boston Pops, St. Louis Symphony and have sung leading roles with the Palm Beach Opera, Cairo and Hong Kong Operas, NY Grand Opera and NJ State Opera companies. I have sung at major NY City concert halls: Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, Town Hall and am an annual favorite in NYC's Little Italy - Feast of San Gennaro. Have sung in the Columbus Day Parade and at the Waldorf Astoria, Rainbow Room, St. Patrick's Cathedral, the Italian Consulate, the Italian Embassy in Washington DC My performances have been covered on CNN, FOX, the Discovery Channel, major NY TV stations, etc. I have been awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award in the Arts by the Order Sons of Italy in America, previously awarded to Luciano Pavarotti 30 years ago! I've sung for the last 2 Presidents of the U.S. in Washington D.C.; with the Boston Pops, the St. Louis Symphony, opera companies and festivals throughout the U.S. in venues such as Lincoln Center and the Kennedy Center. My international career has included solo appearances in concert halls throughout Japan, Korea, Hong Kong, Eruope, the Middle East - even Africa! I have appeared for High-profile organizations at the Waldorf Astoria, The Rainbow Room, The Breakers Hotel in Palm Beach and have headlined in such casinos as the Hilton and Trump Taj Mahal in Atlantic City. I sing in many styles and 8 languages with a basis in classical/crossover vocal technique - from Opera to Sinatra and specialize in Italian and Italian-American favorites and produce/perform a "Christmas in Italy®" concert annually in NYC at Lincoln Center and CA. My record label/producer of my CD "Cristina Fontanelli Sings Great Italian Favorites" has had many platinum-records with the 4 Seaons/Whitney Houston and others. I'm a member of the 3 leading theatrical unions: SAG/AFTRA/EQUITY and have appeared on TV and in Films.
