Ava-Rebekah Rahman: Concert Violinist Violinist from Old Hickory, TN

Ava- Rebekah Rahman is a highly sought after virtuoso 'cross over' violinist who has performed hundreds of concerts and events internationally and nationally from audiences of 50 - 40,000. She is internationally acknowledged for her high level of artistry, thrilling, passionate, emotional performances and professionalism. Her repertoire spans from Classical, jazz, pop, tango, Spanish, French , Film/Movie Soundtracks, Motown, Bollywood, Rock-Metal. Clients and venues have included, Carnegie Hall, Beijng National Arts Centre, Siemens Foundation, Goethe Institute, Heavy Metal band ACCEPT, Queen Elizabeth Hall, Madonna, Beethoven Haus, Rock band Brings, Prague Philharmonic Artist in Resident, Astra Zeneca, , Rudolfinum Prag, Seoul National Arts Centre, Edinburgh Festival, Köln Philharmonic, Alice Tully Hall Lincoln Centre to Oslo Opera House, New York City Pops, Paralympics Germany. Ava made her solo concert debut at age 10 performing Mozart G major Concerto with the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain . From age 11 she attended the Royal Northern College of Music studying with Leland Chen. At 12 she performed 2 Beethoven Romances as a soloist at the Edinburgh Festival. She recorded her first CD as the featured soloist at age 15 with the William Byrd singers. While attending the prestigious Westminster School in London , she performed Mendelssohn Concerto at the Queen Elizabeth Hall and won competitions including the Munster Chamber Music Award . She studied ethnomusicology and contemporary music at Goldsmiths University of London and gained a Solo Diploma at RNCM, before going to New York to continue her violin studies with Lewis Kaplan ,JUILLIARD School/Mannes. She has also studied with Salvatore Accardo, Boris Belkin, Giulianno Carmignola and participated in masterclasses with Ivry Gitlis , Pinchas Zuckermann, The Kronos Quartet , The Endellion Quartet and The Emerson Quartet. Her interest in Modern , Indian and Multi genre music led her to study Neue Musik and Folkwang University and she has premiered new compositions by Konstanzia Gourzi, Jörg Widmann and Snenaza Nesic.
